The hijackers intentionally crashed two of the airplanes into the Twin Towers of the WORLD TRADE CENTER in NEW YORK CITY, killing everyone on board and many others who were working in the building, caused both buildings to collapse within two hours, destroying at least two nearby buildings and damaging others.
Excluding the 19 hijackers, 2,999 people died in the attacks. And other people were missed! The United States responded to the attacks by launching a WAR WITH TERRORISM, invading AFGHANISTAN.
